Quick overview

$79 CAD · Currently serving Ontario · Subject to clinical assessment

Is this the right starting point?

Care that fits your needs.

For people in Ontario seeking a virtual assessment of a non-emergency concern. Some concerns need an in-person examination.

An NP assessment

Discuss your concern, relevant history and existing care.

A practical care plan

Understand recommendations and possible next steps: treatment, testing, prescription review, referral or in-person assessment, where appropriate.

Clarity about follow-up

Know whether a review is needed and how to arrange it. Follow-up visits are booked separately at the listed price.

Not for emergencies.Call 911 or seek emergency care if you need immediate help. Virtual care may not be appropriate for every concern.

Virtual Care service fees

Each fee is for the selected service, not an additional charge for the same visit. A separately booked follow-up is $49 CAD; no free follow-up is promised. Prescriptions, referrals and sick notes depend on assessment and are not guaranteed. Visit duration and included follow-up arrangements await confirmation.

Your care, explained

During your virtual visit

Prepare your medication information, previous results and any existing care plan. Use the clinical intake for records — do not send medical details through a general enquiry.

Your NP assesses suitability and explains the findings and options. A visit is not a guarantee of a prescription, sick note, test or referral.

Your care, explained

Prescriptions, referrals and coordinated care

Medication review is not a refill

A review considers your current medications and recommendations. A renewal separately assesses whether continuing an existing prescription is appropriate.

Referrals when appropriate

An NP may recommend further assessment or a referral. A letter does not guarantee specialist acceptance or a particular waiting time.

Pharmacy coordination

Next-day home delivery through our pharmacy partner. Dispensing is subject to prescription approval and pharmacy requirements.

Clear costs

Know the cost before you commit.

Service fees, full program term totals and confirmed inclusions are shown on this page. Program terms are paid upfront in full.

Your complete cost

Approved service fees and full program term totals are listed here, paid upfront for the fixed term. Klarna financing is available at checkout, subject to eligibility and approval. Taxes where applicable, renewal and cancellation deadlines will be stated before payment.

What may cost extra

Medication and additional treatment costs are separate unless explicitly stated. Virtual Care visits do not include program labs or supplements.

Your choices

If your preferred treatment is unsuitable, available care options and applicable cancellation or refund terms will be explained before commitment.

The bigger picture

Not just results.
A way forward.

When testing is appropriate, the next step is understanding what it means for you. Refua connects clinical assessment, results interpretation and practical next steps.

Testing guided by your care

Your NP determines whether existing results or new testing can inform your plan. Virtual Care visits do not include program labs; tests outside program inclusions may cost extra.

Results with clinical context

At-home blood collection through NiaHealth for the included Heart & Metabolic Panel at baseline and every 3 months while your program is active, with coordination, clinician-reviewed results and easy-to-read dashboard access. Refua’s panel scope applies, not every test NiaHealth offers.

Before you book

Your questions, answered.

Who provides clinical care at Refua?

Refua is the telehealth platform. Clinical care is delivered by Ontario nurse practitioners (NPs), within their professional scope. Care Specialists help with booking and coordination, not clinical consultations. Registration can be verified on the College of Nurses of Ontario public register.

Can I use Refua outside Ontario?

Refua currently serves Ontario. You must be in Ontario during your clinical appointment. Other provinces are planned expansion areas, with no confirmed launch dates. See our Service area page for Ontario eligibility information.

What will my care cost?

Virtual Care service fees and 3-, 6- and 12-month program totals are listed on our Pricing page. Programs are fixed 3-, 6- or 12-month terms paid upfront in full; there is no month-to-month plan. Each program page lists confirmed inclusions. Medication is paid separately; Virtual Care visits are charged per selected visit. OHIP or insurance reimbursement is not promised.

Does booking guarantee a prescription or referral?

No. Prescribing, testing, documentation and referrals depend on the NP’s assessment, clinical scope and suitability. A referral does not guarantee specialist acceptance, access or a particular wait time.

What happens after an appointment?

Your clinician explains your care plan and appropriate next steps, which may include treatment, testing, results review, a referral or in-person care. Any additional fees are disclosed before you commit.

Is virtual care suitable for emergencies?

No. Refua is not an emergency service. Call 911 or seek emergency care when immediate help is needed. Some concerns require an in-person assessment rather than virtual care.

How does Refua compare with Felix, Jack Health, Maple and TELUS Health MyCare?

These providers also offer virtual care or weight-related support. Refua brings together Ontario NP care, fixed 3-, 6- or 12-month metabolic programs, included at-home NiaHealth panels at baseline and every 3 months while active, and Daily Dose packs delivered monthly. Compare the actual care, testing, medication costs and term commitments—not just headline prices. Refua does not claim that other providers lack ongoing support.

Is Refua only a prescription service?

No. Refua offers focused Virtual Care visits, non-GLP-1 metabolic Concierge care and clinically assessed Weight Loss Management. Program care combines assessment, monitoring, lifestyle guidance, included panels and supplement packs. Medication is extra and prescribing is never guaranteed.

How does at-home testing fit into a Refua program?

Both metabolic programs include at-home blood collection through NiaHealth for the Heart & Metabolic Panel at baseline and every 3 months while active, clinician-reviewed results and dashboard access. Virtual Care visits do not include these program labs.
