Refua (“we,” “our,” “us”) is a virtual healthcare coordination service that connects Ontario patients with licensed Canadian clinicians for private, video-based medical checkups. We respect your privacy and protect your information under PHIPA and PIPEDA.

1) Information we collect

Personal: name, DOB, contact details, province, ID.
Medical: history you provide; records obtained from prior providers (with your signed release); clinician notes or summaries.
Technical: device, IP, security/session data; booking metadata.
Communications: messages and emails between you, Refua, and your clinician.

2) How we use info

Identity verification; scheduling; record access (with consent); secure communication; maintaining your account; service improvement; legal/regulatory compliance. We do not sell your data.

3) How we share info

With clinicians for your checkup; with consent via your signed medical release; with Canadian service providers (hosting, video, booking) under PHIPA/PIPEDA contracts; when required by law.

4) Data security

End-to-end encryption; Canadian data centers; role-based access; MFA; continuous monitoring.

5) Your rights

Access, correct, or withdraw consent (where permitted). Request your signed release copy anytime: privacy@refua.ca.

6) Retention

We keep data as long as needed for coordination or as required by law, then securely delete or anonymize.

7) Cookies & analytics

Essential cookies for security/session only; no advertising tracking. Any analytics used are anonymized.

8) Children’s privacy

Services intended for 18+. Under 18 requires parent/guardian authorization.

9) International transfers

No cross-border transfers. Data stays in Canada.

10) Updates

We may update this policy; changes are posted with a new “Last Updated” date.
